Club Captains First Report

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Mini Enthusiasts who attended our inaugural meeting at the Broncos Leagues Club.

It was great to see so many new and familiar faces interested to know what our plans are and mingling with other mini owners with renewed excitement.

In the meantime I am pleased to release the Mini Owners Club of Queensland and other Club’s coming events on the “Bricks Bulletin” page. I am sure that you will love to attend many of the clubs planned events as well as catch up with other clubs to chat about our favourite subject, Classic Cars, over the next six months.

The most important event of the year is keeping the legend alive, the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Mini’s release in the U.K. back in 1959. If you have any ideas, the club would love to hear from you. If you have any old photos of yourself and the “Brick” in the 60’s and 70’s we would like to see them and share them with fellow Mini lovers. We are also looking for companies that may have utilised the Mini for any purpose, and any photos that they might have.

I would like to point out the objectives of the “Mini Owners Club of Qld”;

 Promote good fellowship amongst all club members, to help them in their motoring problems, and to assist them to become proficient and safe motorists.

 Organise and promote various Competitive, Day Runs, Social Meetings, Speakers, Show & Shines and Fund Raising events.

 Hold Driving Training for members of the Club and to give or arrange to give by a qualified person or persons, Maintenance, Navigational, Safety or General Topics of Interest talks and lectures.

I look forward to seeing you at our next event and monthly meeting.

Tony Formosa.
